## Provenance

- **VedAstro**: Upstream provenance from Astro-Databank has not been verified
  line by line. The MIT license claim is accepted as declared by VedAstro but
  Tian Mira has not independently confirmed each record's origin.
- **Astro-Databank C**: Records are from the official Astro-Databank C sample
  and have been verified against the public Astro-Databank wiki.

## Geographical Conflicts

72 profiles in the merged corpus show coordinate differences >50 km between
the official Astro-Databank coordinates and the VedAstro-reported coordinates.
These are flagged for human review.

## Historical Dates

For dates before 1582, calendar system (Julian vs. Gregorian) is not always
documented. The calculation engine uses the provided date as-is without calendar
conversion, which may affect pillar assignments for historical figures.

## Geocoding Limitations

Timezone resolution depends on the GeoNames city index. For small or historical
locations, the nearest city within 100 km is used, which may not reflect the
exact historical timezone.

## BaZi as a Cultural System

BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) is a traditional Chinese metaphysical system.
It is:
- A symbolic and cultural framework, not a scientific method
- Non-deterministic and subject to multiple interpretative traditions
- Not validated by controlled scientific studies

## Non-Predictive

This dataset contains only technical calculations. It does not include:
- Predictions about death, illness, accidents, or fixed destiny
- Medical, legal, or financial forecasts
- Narrative interpretations
- Horoscope readings
- Fortune-telling outputs

## do_not_infer

All records carry the flag `do_not_infer = true`. Users must not use this
data to infer or claim deterministic outcomes for any individual.

## Publication Status

This is the 2026.1-light release. Lightweight documentation, multilingual
articles, A-Z indexes and canonical calculation references are published.
The 32 expert advanced_v2 shards remain pending R2 upload and are not available.
